The FAA system outage that resulted in thousands of flights being grounded earlier this week was reportedly due to a couple of contractors mucking up the system’s database.

How much do you want to bet that the contractors were some Pakis doing weird shit that they weren’t supposed to be doing?
It is also worth noting that the FAA system is antiquated and nobody has any coherent strategy to modernize it.

It’s ridiculous that something like this could even happen. There should be change control processes and redundancies in place that would ensure systems continue to operate regardless of however big a fuck up takes place. Especially for a system as critical as this.
It’s also the result of people just kicking the can down the road because they didn’t want to deal with the problem. That’s why the system was never updated despite being decades old.
There is growing incompetence everywhere and it is only going to get worse. This is what happens when you marginalize and demonize the most competent demographic of people within society. Eventually they say to hell with it and stop trying to prop up a collapsing house of cards.
