There are all sorts of headlines pertaining to Yemen that I’m still trying to digest. Ultimately, it looks as if the United States and a handful of allies are getting ready to wage war against Yemen on behalf of Jews and Israel. This after the Yemen Houthis have effectively closed the Red Sea to global commerce.

Here’s some posts detailing some of the latest developments. There are reports of explosions and new attacks on vessels attempting to traverse through the Red Sea.

Here’s Scott Ritter’s take.

I generally agree with Scott’s analysis. I don’t believe this is going to end well for either the US or Israel. American naval power is in many ways obsolete when you consider the development of hypersonic missile technology. The Iranians have this technology and American naval ships do not have any defense against these missiles.

You also have to consider the logistical difficulties of operating large naval vessels around the chokepoint area that connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden. The Yemen Houthis have full military control over this area.

I just don’t see what waging war against Yemen is going to accomplish outside of the Jews digging an even bigger hole for themselves. Israel has attached the future of their regime to a rapidly declining military power. Sooner or later they are going to realize that they’ve bet on a losing horse.
