These strikes are obviously not good for the economy, but they would not have happened if we didn’t have out of control inflation and other crazy preexisting economic issues.
I mean, the United States government and a good portion of the world thought it was a great idea to shut down much of the global economy for two years because of a fake pandemic hoax and print gazillions of dollars on computers. You can’t do something like this and not expect there to be all sorts of economic problems that result from it.
The value of people’s wages in real terms has fallen dramatically. The US Dollar doesn’t buy anywhere near what it used to. So it is reasonable for these people to be on strike and demanding higher wages.
The auto companies haven’t done themselves any favors either by producing all this electric vehicle garbage. Ford has been losing all sorts of money on their EVs.
On top of that, part of the labor dispute is over this massive battery plant Ford is building that China is apparently helping them build.

FORD CEO SAYS UAW HOLDING LABOR DEAL 'HOSTAGE' OVER FATE OF BATTERY PLANTS (Reuters)

The economy is a mess and there’s no reason to believe it is going to get better any time soon.
