It’s all dumb theater on both sides.
We’ve seen this movie before. At the last minute, they’ll agree to some sort of compromise that ensures the insanity continues. I’m saying this as someone who would love to see a default just because of how funny it would be, but the chances of it actually happening are very low.
Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter if the debt ceiling is raised or not. The economy is collapsing and it is only a question of how exactly the collapse will play out. The US is a doomed place with a doomed economy.
