Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is now saying that people shouldn’t have children because of climate change.

Independent:

Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez argues that it is a “legitimate question” to ask whether it’s moral for people to have children with the looming threat of climate change continues to exacerbate global conflicts.

The freshman New York lawmaker used Instagram to connect with her 2.5 million followers over the weekend to discuss the question she often hears from her younger constituents.

“There’s scientific consensus that the lives of children are going to be very difficult,” Ms Ocasio-Cortez said during an Instagram livestream. “And it does lead young people to have a legitimate question: Is it OK to still have children?”

Ms Ocasio-Cortez, a co-sponsor of the progressive Green New Deal resolution, said the clock is ticking when it comes to reversing the effects of global warming within the estimated 12-year deadline the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change reported last fall.

“We had time when I was born, but — ticktock — nothing got done,” the 29-year-old lawmaker added. “As the youngest member of Congress, I wish we didn’t have 12 years. It’s our lungs that are going to get choked with wildfire smoke.”

In some sense I get what she’s trying to say. If the world is going to be such a fucked up place, why do we want to bring more people into such an awful situation? But what is the point of trying to fix the world if we aren’t going to have children? With no children there is no future. So why even bother with this “Green New Deal” that she’s proposed if we aren’t going to reproduce?

There’s just a number of logical fallacies here. But logic isn’t AOC’s strong suit. Climate change is a big hoax and she wants us to spend $93 trillion to fix this non-existent problem.

And relatively speaking, life is nowhere near as hard and rough as it once was. The industrial revolution and technological advances have made our lives far easier. It’s just ironic that AOC and others are claiming that these advances are contributing to a situation that is going to destroy the planet in the next decade.

But if limiting births is a goal, you’d want to start with blacks in Africa. Their birthrate is out of control and their race hasn’t produced anything important or noteworthy. I don’t care what that Black Panther movie says, it is not an accurate portrayal of the Negroid race.
