This bill would extend sanctions on Syria until 2032 and prohibit any normalization in relations with the Assad-led government. It is being claimed that this is to benefit the Syrian people when it is nothing of the sort. It is being done to benefit Jews and Israel.
Assad seems like a reasonable person and he is a popular leader among Syrians. He opposes Israel which is the main reason why the Congress is pushing bullshit like this.
Prolonging sanctions on Syria is not going to change anything inside of the country or facilitate a change in government. They have good relations with Russia, Iran and China. Assad and the Syrian people don’t need the West. What they need is for American forces to leave the parts of their country that they are illegally occupying.
