Twitter is going to increase its character limit to 4,000 from 280.

I’m sort of agnostic on this issue.

Part of Twitter’s appeal is the short post format. If you allow 4,000 character per post, you are going to get more verbose postings.

Of course, there are cases where like in the case of these Twitter Files where more long format posts might be necessary.

I don’t know, maybe this will be good, maybe it won’t. It looks like it is going to happen either way, so we’ll see how it turns out. Elon did say that they were going to try a bunch of different things some of which may or may not be stupid. So I guess it doesn’t hurt to do some experimentation.
