Steve Harwell the lead singer of the 1990s era band Smash Mouth has died from alcoholism. He was 56-years-old. The band’s social media is trying to paint his death in a good light, but at the end of the day he was just a weak person who drank himself to death.

Walkin’ on the Sun was one of their bigger hits.

Although they’re probably better known for All Star which I personally found to be a very obnoxious and faggy song.

Harwell suffered liver failure from all the binge drinking he did. If anything, his death should serve as a warning to people about the dangers of alcohol.

When I was in college back in the 1990s, Smash Mouth did a show at the university I was studying at. I remember the band went to one of the fraternities after the show to drink and party with some of the students. Harwell was probably doing the same thing on each stop of the tour. The drinking consumed him and ultimately killed him.

Time sure flies by though. It feels like that was just yesterday when this band was all over FM radio. Of course that was almost 25 years ago now.

Whatever the case, don’t let drugs or alcohol ruin and destroy your life like Steve did. Only weak people let a substance destroy them.
