There’s been a ton of news that came out of Vladimir Putin’s speech today. Russia’s suspension of the START nuclear arms treaty is definitely one of the bigger stories that emerged.
BREAKING: Putin says Russia suspending participation in New Start nuclear disarmament treaty, the arms control agreement it has with the UShttps://t.co/aLCDRQYbox

NATO head Jens Stoltenberg threw a hissy fit over it.
Like usual, Stoltenberg crosses his arms, stomps his feet and makes the frowny face. Naturally, blames Russia for the suspension of START III, not the U.S., which is a co-belligerent in attacks on Russia (such as the US/NATO modified Ukrainian drones that targeted Engels-2). pic.twitter.com/s0mRCxWa2a

He acts surprised that Russia would do this after everything they’ve been doing to them. Like, how do these people say these things with a straight face?
Russia has rightly concluded that there is no possible way to reason with the West. All they’ve gotten from the West is lies and more lies. Hence why they have suspended this treaty. Their very existence as a nation is at stake and there is no reason for them to expect the West to honor any agreements. Look at how they handled the Minsk agreements.
It is safe to say that the suspension of this treaty makes nuclear war more likely. Considering the way the world is, you could make the argument that nuclear war would be an improvement. Of course, it would have its downsides as well.
