Not even sure how they didn’t know about this until now. It’s either a case of corruption, incompetence, stupidity or all of the three.
Quite frankly, this is just the tip of the iceberg. It is hard to see how the United States military can even function without different materials, parts and components from China. The US hardly makes anything. Everything is being made in China now.
That aside, the F-35 jet has been one of the biggest boondoggles in the history of the US military. Trillions of dollars have been spent to develop this objectively horrible product that has been plagued with all sorts of defects and problems.
