Hungary’s leader Viktor Orban has denounced NATO and the European Union for their failed Russia policies.

RT:

The Russia-Ukraine conflict could end the West’s dominance and shift the balance of power in the world, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said. Russia launched a military campaign against the neighboring country in late February.

Orban argued that the decision to impose sanctions on Moscow and supply Kiev with heavy weapons de facto turned the EU and NATO member states into participants in the conflict, but ultimately yielded no results.

“Instead, today we are sitting inside a car with flat tires on all four wheels,” Orban said in a speech in the Romanian city of Baile Tusnad on Saturday.

“The world is not only not with us, but it is demonstratively not with us,” the PM added, arguing that, instead of thinking about gaining the upper hand on the battlefield in Ukraine, the West should now focus on achieving peace through negotiations.

What’s interesting about this is that for the past several years, Orban talked a tough game against the EU, but ultimately never did anything substantive to remove Hungary from the bloc. Of course, things have changed drastically as a result of the virus hoax and the Ukraine conflict. The EU’s sanctions on Russian energy have now made EU membership an economic negative. Hungary like other EU countries, needs Russian energy or their economy won’t be able to function. It’s very possible that Orban will be looking for an exit and will try and establish closer ties to Russia. Other European countries could follow suit as their economies fall deeper into a collapse.

This absolutely dumb decision to sanction Russia while waging a proxy war against them could very well mark the beginning of the end for the EU. There is no sign that any of these moronic EU bureaucrats are planning to reverse course on these suicidal policies. Apparently the farmer protests in the Netherlands and Mario Draghi being forced out of power in Italy haven’t been big enough wake up calls.

The West has totally isolated itself with this Ukraine fiasco. The rest of the world is looking on and rightly believe that the West provoked this utterly senseless conflict. They should cut their losses as Orban has suggested, but it doesn’t appear as if they’re going to even consider that. So if this continues, it is hard to see any other scenario other than the EU collapsing like the old USSR did.
