The above graph from Similarweb showing Gab’s estimated web traffic shows that it lost 10 percent of its traffic in March 2024. The data also indicates that monthly visitors to the site has gone down by 1.6 million since the start of the year.

This is not a surprising result. They decided to make posting memes a premium paid “feature” and even insulted the users who did not like this policy. They’ve also done all sorts of stupid shit to piss people off that I’m not going to relitigate in any great detail here.

Suffice to say, the future does not look good for Gab.

The majority of people posting on it are boomers. It’s basically the Fox News of Alt-Tech social media. The people who bought the piss halo “Pro” accounts will inevitably stop posting or abandon their accounts entirely due to the general lack of organic engagement. I’d fully expect traffic on Gab to slowly decline over the months ahead.

I deleted my Gab account shortly after they forced people to pay for the alleged “privilege” of posting memes. I am now on Poa.st.

I’d very much like to get up to 300 followers in the next few weeks lol.

The site has a youthful demographic and I’ve gotten much more engagement on it versus Gab despite having many times more followers on Gab. This was obviously due to various shadow banning and other chicanery conducted by Gab’s horrific management team.
