The French Foreign Ministry recently said that the Kiev regime was exercising legitimate self-defense by attacking civilians in Belgorod with cluster bombs.

This is obviously a false and ridiculous assertion.

Attacking defenseless people with cluster bombs is a war crime and not a legitimate exercise in self-defense. They were not going after military targets. It was an attack deliberately designed to provoke a Russian overreaction to try and drag NATO into a direct conflict with Russia.

The Ukrainian side has already lost. Their only hope now is to get NATO to intervene on their behalf but there is simply no political appetite for this. The West no longer wants to support this failed war with additional resources. The attacks were a desperate act by a collapsing regime.
