Today was the beginning of the Senate’s confirmation hearing on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. The Democrats managed to turn it into quite a circus. Things got so bad that Kavanaugh’s young daughters actually had to leave the room for awhile.

Just as the hearings began, Chuck Grassley the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman was interrupted by Democrats including Kamala Harris and others with complaints about documents and procedures.

There were also several protesters who showed up to interrupt and slowdown the proceedings. It was a ridiculous situation that appears to all have been coordinated by the Democrats over the weekend.

The Democrats are trying to stonewall the hearing claiming that they haven’t received enough documents. The documents they want stem from Kavanaugh’s time at the White House when George W. Bush was president. Kavanaugh was a Staff Secretary and was only responsible for moving papers around. He was not the originating author of any of these documents which makes their request totally irrelevant.

Trump commented on the chicanery.

Ted Cruz also did a good job calling out the Democrats for their insane behavior at the hearing.

Kavanaugh didn’t even get a chance to make his opening statement until the late afternoon.

The hearing is expected to continue throughout the week. We will undoubtedly see all sorts of insanity as this process unfolds.

But the only thing the Democrats can do is stall and engage in political theater. They do not have the votes to block Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Barring some unexpected weirdness, Kavanaugh will be on the Supreme Court.
