This upcoming gun rights rally slated to be held on January 20th in Virginia is shaping up to be a fiasco. The FBI in advance of this event has arrested a bunch of supposed White supremacists and the Virginia governor has declared a state of emergency suspending people’s gun rights. The idea behind this is to frame this event in the media as some type of violent White supremacist rally so the public will support an unlawful government crackdown.

The Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is even implying this with his tweets. He’s claiming that he’s gotten all sorts of intelligence about alleged violent right-wingers who are planning on attending the rally.

They seem to be deliberately creating the conditions for this to be another Charlottesville type event. At Charlottesville in 2017, people including myself attended a rally to protest the removal of a Confederate statue. We were attacked by violent anti-fascist terrorists. The cops did nothing to separate the two sides and they even forced us into the anti-fascists when they sent in riot police to remove us from Lee Park. People who simply defended themselves were charged with all sorts of crimes whereas nothing happened to the anti-fascists.

All of this came out in an independent report that reviewed the events of that day, but it didn’t matter. Nothing was ever done to correct this grave injustice.

Simply put, we do not have freedom of assembly in America. We especially don’t have it in Virginia considering what happened in Charlottesville a few years ago.

I would not go to this event. Granted, the rally might go on without any major problems. But considering what the FBI and the Virginia state government has done, I would not attend.

The Virginia state government is utterly corrupt and devoid of principles based on what we saw them do in Charlottesville. They will gladly let anti-fascist terrorists and Communists attack you and have you arrested for defending yourself.

And look, all sorts of people in government and in the media are already framing this rally as being a rally of White supremacist terrorism. The whole thing looks like a setup and they are openly telegraphing it as such.

There is nothing to gain from attending this rally. Nothing at all.
