Unemployment claims in the United States have now surpassed 30 million. 3.8 million more people filed for unemployment this past week.
The latest national unemployment numbers are in:
•3.8 million filed last week
•30 million jobless claims total
•For perspective, the unemployment rate this month could reach 20% when all of April’s numbers are in. 25% of the country was unemployed during the Great Depression pic.twitter.com/aIwLVl6Zmt— Juliana Mazza (@julianamazzatv) April 30, 2020
We are not close to the end of this either. Due to the fact that many state websites couldn’t handle the flood of unemployment claims that came in, we are going to see millions more filed in the coming weeks. The whole situation has been an absolute disaster and illustrates the abject failure of the government.
Lawsuits are being filed over Florida’s broken unemployment system.

And that’s just one example of the many state websites that have malfunctioned or broke during this entire fiasco.
Unemployment claims don’t even take into account the people who are not eligible to file who no longer have work. There is no question that this crisis is going to be worse than the Great Depression.
The people who used the power of government to close the economy because they were afraid of a flu-like virus are criminals and some of the worst tyrants the world has ever seen.
