Donald Trump was just acquitted in this recent fiasco of an impeachment trial that unfolded in the Senate. There was nothing constitutional about the process. The entire thing was a sham. He was acquitted by a vote of 57-43 with a handful of traitor Republicans voting to convict him on false bullshit charges.

Trump issued a statement following the acquittal describing how the MAGA movement has just begun.

The Democrats looked like fools during this whole process. They pushed to call for witnesses but when Trump’s defense team said they were going to call hundreds of witnesses including people like Nancy Pelosi, they caved and decided not to go through with it.
The problem the Democrats have is that outside of big corporations and billionaires, these people have no real support. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are not popular figures and half if not more of the country knows the election was stolen by this criminal regime. So part of this impeachment crap and all the nonsense with Majorie Greene before it was about distracting the public from the fact that they don’t represent their interests. They’re going to have a hard time since their entire political brand for the past five years was being against everything Trump was for. With Trump out of power they no longer can blame him for things that happen since they have total power. They’re grasping at straws looking for people or groups they can blame to justify the power they have.
I have no idea what Trump has planned for future, but running for the presidency in 2024 would be a waste of time assuming the system survives that long. He’d be better off leading a secession movement centered around restoring the constitutional rule of law. But I guess we’ll see what he has planned.
