A new Reuters article is talking about how there is a push from pediatricians and parents to prevent teens from buying energy drinks.

This is just dumb.

They did the same thing with vaping products which was equally as stupid. I guess in most states you now have to be 21-years-old to buy e-cigs which is perplexing to me. I don’t vape but I find such a law to be quite retarded.

There is no major problem or crisis surrounding energy drink consumption or vaping among teenagers or children. So what’s the purpose of all this? The fact that they’re citing “caffeine levels” as the reason to ban energy drinks is even dumber.  A standard cup of coffee has more caffeine in it than a Red Bull.

So where’s the push to ban coffee if caffeine is such a concern?

These same people won’t push to ban COVID-19 shots which have literally killed people including children, but instead want to whine about energy drinks. Real fucking heroes these people are.

To be clear, I don’t think energy drinks are necessarily healthy or good for you, but you could make the same argument about all sorts of things. As one example, just look at all the junk and garbage that is put in processed food.

How about aspartame? There was an Italian study showing that aspartame gave rats cancer, but despite that study the government says that it is totally cool to keep putting it in sodas and other beverages.

This is just another case of misplaced priorities. They want to ban or limit access to things that aren’t even a problem while ignoring things that are causing very real problems.
