The Jewish CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman has been fired by the company’s board. OpenAI as many of you probably already know is the organization responsible for the AI app ChatGPT.

I have no idea what is going on with this, but this seems like a somewhat significant story in the world of big tech.
Greg Brockman who co-founded OpenAI stepped down from his position in protest after the board’s decision. Neither him nor Sam seem to know why this decision was made.
After learning today’s news, this is the message I sent to the OpenAI team: https://t.co/NMnG16yFmm pic.twitter.com/8x39P0ejOM

Sam and I are shocked and saddened by what the board did today.
Let us first say thank you to all the incredible people who we have worked with at OpenAI, our customers, our investors, and all of those who have been reaching out.
We too are still trying to figure out exactly…

There was probably some type of behind the scenes powerplay or ulterior motive behind this.
It is worth noting that Microsoft invested $10 billion into OpenAI so they have a big financial interest in the operation. There’s no telling how this news will impact their investment.
I don’t have anything further to add to this at the moment. There’s not enough information out in the public domain to really know what’s going on with this. There are however a number of people who want to have control and/or domination over this AI technology. I’m sure we’ll know more about it in the days and weeks ahead.
