The network was down for nine hours all over Australia.
Their CEO is some middle-aged woman. She says she’s very sorry about the outage.

I doubt she’s really sorry or gives a shit.
These clowns already outsourced a significant amount of their support staff to India. I’m sure they also have all sorts of diversity hires within Australia as well.
The outage impacted 10 million people in Australia. This is just another example showing how infrastructure in the West is becoming increasingly unstable. We are not putting the most competent people in charge of it and this is the end result of that decision.
I mean, nobody can tell me that this middle-aged woman CEO of Optus is the most qualified person to hold this position. She was clearly only put in that position for being a woman. One can only imagine how many other examples of this exist within the company itself.
