Alleged free speech absolutist Elon Musk had this to say about Alex Jones and why he hasn’t been reinstated yet.

He’s basically saying that Jones somehow profited off of the alleged deaths of the Sandy Hook children because he thought the event was a hoax. Since Jones held this opinion, Musk thinks this disqualifies from him having a voice on Twitter.
This doesn’t make any sense. Courts have said that Jones owes billions of dollars for simply stating his opinion on the subject. He did not profit off of this event. If anybody profited from the situation, it was the Sandy Hook parents. It’s also ridiculous for Elon to personalize the issue by bringing up the death of his firstborn child. How is that even related to free speech?
You are either a free speech absolutist or you are not. Musk is proving that he is not a free speech absolutist. I have many issues with Jones, but I believe he should be allowed to speak and shouldn’t be banned because of his opinions on Sandy Hook. Keeping Jones banned because he allegedly profited off of dead kids is stupid, especially when that isn’t even true.
If profiting off of dead kids is the standard on which people are going to be banned off of Twitter, Elon needs to start banning all sorts of Jews, faggots and other demented Hollywood people.
As I’ve said before, everybody who was banned should be given a blanket amnesty. It is stupid to litigate the cases of individual people like this.
