It looks like the Wagner Group coup is over. In a deal negotiated with the Kremlin, charges against its leader Evgeniy Prigozhin will be dropped and he will leave Russia to reside in Belarus. Wagner fighters who did not participate in the coup will be offered positions in the Russian military and those who did participate in the coup won’t be charged with crimes.

RT:

The criminal case, launched this weekend, against Wagner Private Military Company founder Evgeniy Prigozhin will be dropped and he will leave Russia, the Kremlin announced on Saturday evening.

Spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed that Prigozhin, a Saint Petersburg Tycoon who made his initial fortune in catering, “will go to Belarus.”

He added that Wagner’s fighters will not be persecuted, taking into account their efforts on the frontlines of the Ukraine conflict. Peskov explained that President Vladimir Putin’s team “have always respected their exploits.”

Those PMC contractors, who refused to take part in the mutiny – and whole units did not – will be allowed to sign contracts with the Russian Defense Ministry, Peskov stated.

This is an interesting end to a very strange series of events. Prigozhin had to have known that the coup was doomed to failure. He was smart to take this deal.

It would be very funny if it turns out that the West gave him a bunch of money to do this coup only for him to back out at the 11th hour. Who the hell knows what the real story is. I’m sure there will be some people out there speculating it was a hoax coup in order for Putin to identify internal enemies.

Either way, the ultimate outcome is very good for Russia and Putin. The Jewish media in the West is claiming that this is some type of embarrassment for Putin and that his grip on power is in question which is all bullshit. This has only solidified his grip on power and will likely result in him getting much more aggressive with the Ukraine situation.
