The Jews think the American naval presence in the region will act as a deterrent from other actors entering the war. I believe this is a gross miscalculation. The world sees America as a weak and declining power. Afghanistan and the Ukraine disasters have only served to reinforce this.
I would not be surprised to see some sort of anti-Israel alliance form among Arab/Islamic states. There is major public support across these countries for military intervention against Israel.
