It is unclear how serious the situation is but the Chinese media is indicating that he may have had some type of heart attack.

Turkey government people are saying that he just had a light cold.
Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said that Erdogan's condition is "very good", he has a "light cold".
Also, the editor-in-chief of the TRT World TV channel, Yusuf Erim, citing several sources close to Erdogan, said that the president of the republic feels good.

Nobody knows for sure though. There is all sorts of speculation about his status.
Meanwhile Vladimir Putin was reportedly rushed to the Kremlin for some reason. No word on if it has anything to do with Erdogan’s health or something else entirely.

There are rumors about him potentially being poisoned by Russians.
