The Biden regime said they were going to forgive at least some student loan debt. Some of the people who took out student loans ended up spending money on things they wouldn’t have otherwise because they assumed they were getting debt relief. The debt relief that was promised did not happen because it was struck down by the Supreme Court. This has put the borrowers in an even worse situation than before.
More than a third of student loan borrowers spent money they otherwise would not have when they believed a portion of their debt would be forgiven by the Biden administration, according to a new poll.
Most borrowers surveyed by Intellingent.com were confident they would receive some student debt relief as part of the Biden administration’s plan to forgive at least $10,000 for federal borrowers and up to $20,000 for those who received a federal Pell Grant while in school.
The Supreme Court struck down the president’s forgiveness plan at the end of June.
I understand the arguments about how theoretically the government shouldn’t be bailing out people who took out these crazy loans, but that would be assuming we had a sound societal situation. We do not have such a situation. The government is sending billions upon billions of dollars to the Ukraine, Israel and all sorts of other places while telling Americans to pound sand over their student loans.
Say what you want about the student loans, but I would much rather the government be spending money on Americans and student loan relief than all the dumb shit they’re doing now.
Plus, these loans have been a highly unethical form of usury for a very long time. Even if you file for bankruptcy you are in many cases still obligated to pay them. I mean, what sort of bullshit fuckery is that?
Lots of Americans were told by this system that they’d be a useless piece of shit if they didn’t get a college degree. So they took out loans to get the degree in order to not be a useless piece of shit only to find out that the degrees they received offer little to no value. To make matters worse, they decided to start just randomly giving them out to niggers and other worthless people.
It’s such a dumb situation and needs to be fixed one way or another.
