The whole trial was a sham and there was never any evidence of a conspiracy.
Proud Boys convicted of conspiracy, even though by the court’s own admission:
1. There was no plan to storm the capital
2. There was no plan to stop the certification
3. One of the defendants was in prison in a different city at the timeConvicted for an “UNSPOKEN” conspiracy.… pic.twitter.com/SQa64dOgQ5

The whole jury was stacked against them.
Proud Boys Jurors: "Six jurors had participated in liberal-leaning protests or marches, while none mentioned conservative-leaning demonstrations. The protests included, in two cases, 'women’s marches'; in two cases, 'anti-gun' marches; and, in four cases, protests related to…

None of this is surprising considering the court system is mostly a corrupt joke run by criminals.
With that said, I think it is worth pointing out that at least two of the men convicted in this trial were informants for the FBI.
There is sufficient evidence and reporting within the public domain to show that Enrique Tarrio and Joe Biggs worked closely with the FBI. This is something that many within various right-wing circles are refusing to talk about.
Tarrio became an FBI informant after he was arrested for fraud in 2012. He apparently agreed to become an informant to lighten his prison sentence. You can find numerous articles about this. Here’s a blurb from just one.
Tarrio repeatedly worked undercover with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on cases involving drugs, human smuggling and gambling, his own lawyer, a federal prosecutor and an FBI agent all said during a 2014 court hearing, Reuters report.
The right-wing leader allegedly turned informant after he was arrested in 2012 for fraud.
Joe Biggs was also cooperating with the FBI and admitted that he had a contact with them. He literally told the media this.
A third Proud Boy leader, Joseph Biggs, who was indicted and charged with conspiracy in the January attack, has said in court papers he reported information to the FBI about Antifa for months. Reuters spoke to Biggs two days before the riot. In that interview, he said he had specific plans for Jan. 6, but declined to disclose them. But, he volunteered to Reuters in that call, he was willing to tell his FBI contact of his plans for the coming rally, if asked. Reuters wasn’t able to determine whether such a contact took place.
Just because you agree to cooperate with the FBI doesn’t mean you will avoid prison. This case should prove that conclusively.
Quite frankly, anybody who agrees to be an informant for the FBI or works with them in any capacity should be excommunicated from right-wing circles.
This whole Proud Boys group became totally overrun by feds and all sorts of suspect people after its founder Gavin McInnes stepped down from it. McInnes himself is a suspicious case and people should be asking why he despite his role in founding this group hasn’t found himself in the position that these other people have.
Maybe the faggots at the FBI enjoyed his homosexual buttplug stunt and decided to give him a pass.
