NATO produced a bizarre Twitter thread on Thursday, in which the ongoing hostilities between Ukraine and Russia were likened to pop fiction sagas such as Harry Potter and Star Wars.
The thread, posted on the official Twitter account of the military bloc, highlighted an interview with a Ukrainian soldier that was released a week ago. The tweets included quotes from the article, accompanied by an assortment of wartime photos, including an ill-fated quote.
“We are Harry Potter and William Wallace, the Na’vi and Han Solo. We’re escaping from Shawshank and blowing up the Death Star. We are fighting with the Harkonnens and challenging Thanos,” the servicemen said.

Not only was this in bad taste, but it was just a very faggy and stupid thing to do. How much do you want to bet some stupid millennial cunt on NATO’s social media or public relations team approved this faggotry?
The only thing this tweet succeeded in doing was make me want Russia to launch an immediate nuclear strike on NATO’s headquarters. If they’re trying to win hearts and minds, this tweet did the opposite.
