Elon Musk announced his intention to move Tesla’s headquarters out of California and into Texas and Nevada because of the lunatic lockdown measures imposed by the state.
Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.

To say that this was an odd remark would be an understatement. Musk only announced his intention to move due to the total inflexibility of the tyrants that run the state. Suffice to say, this comment is only going to reinforce his decision to move the company elsewhere.
Of course, Tesla’s future like many companies is greatly uncertain due to the economic disaster that’s been forced on us. The average person is not going to have money to afford a Tesla. Even before the collapse Tesla was still considered a luxury brand. So obviously Musk will have to adopt a brand new strategy to deal with this new reality.
But either way, I’d much rather see Musk focus his energy on promoting freedom than building luxury electric cars.
