After becoming Twitter’s largest stockholder, Elon Musk is asking some serious questions about how Twitter really operates.

He publicly questioned why some of the most followed Twitter accounts rarely post anything.

He’s alluding to how Twitter allows certain accounts to be artificially popularized. This is a big problem across all social media where followers and likes can be purchased. It’s why social media has become such a fake and artificial reality. There’s very little organic about any of it.

He also trolled Twitter’s staff by posting a poll asking if Twitter’s San Francisco HQ should be turned into a homeless shelter since nobody shows up to work there any longer.

Looks like most people think it should.

With Musk starting to raise questions, it looks as if there are some people inside of Twitter who are starting to panic and are beginning to change some of their deceptive practices.

A recent practice of hiding the content of embedded Twitter posts that have been deleted has been reversed. They deceptively made it appear as if the post wasn’t loading properly, instead of displaying the content of the tweet like was done previously.

Tech Crunch did a whole article describing the change. It was clearly meant to hide old posts made by people who Twitter had banned or censored.

I’m not overly optimistic that Musk will be successful in making major changes at Twitter, but I like that he is rattling the cages a bit. The problem is that this entire system is going to do everything in its power to maintain the existing censorship practices. The only way this regime is sustaining itself is through the endless promotion of lies. They simply can’t allow any sort of truth to be organically spread on Twitter or any of the large social media sites.
