As much as the United States is pushing for a big war with Russia over Ukrainian border integrity, there are some in Europe who are not on board with this. Even the puppet Ukrainian government has dismissed the idea that Russia is about to launch a massive invasion.

Der Spiegel a German media operation recently highlighted how NATO made pledges in the early 1990s not to expand. A pledge that has been broken repeatedly over the past thirty years.

This is why Russia is standing firm and stating clearly that Ukraine being brought into NATO will not be tolerated. The United States and many NATO members are deliberately ignoring this very reasonable position by the Russians. But this report from Der Spiegel highlights how not everybody is on board with what’s happening.

It is also hard to see specifically how Germany would be thrilled about these events. Any conflict in Europe would negatively impact them far more than the United States. They also rely heavily on Russian gas which would be totally cutoff during a major war.

The NATO alliance might not be as united on this push to do a big war with Russia as is being presented. Unlike the wars we’ve seen in the Middle East, this is something that would potentially cause great turmoil and devastation all over Europe.
