I don’t believe the Chinese government actually thinks COVID-19 is any sort of real threat. We must remember that they never shut down their business operations at the height of COVID-19 hysteria.
In this case, they are using COVID-19 as an excuse to halt exports without specifically saying that they are halting exports.
Specifically, it looks like they are doing this as an attack against Silicon Valley.
China has temporarily shut down one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturing facilities to fight a new COVID-19 spike, possibly triggering another supply chain issue that could hit the Bay Area hard. https://t.co/rdm3HuIyBh

I mean come on, what are the odds that this major electronic manufacturing hub would get closed because of COVID-19?
They’ve also closed other important manufacturing hubs.
The Chinese are using the COVID-19 hoax to their advantage. It’s actually a smart move considering that the West will not stop with their agitations and provocations against them.
