This has been a total misuse of an emergency oil reserve and it has only been done for political reasons. It has helped bring down gas prices a bit, but the prices are still much higher than when they took over.
Most likely they will end this irresponsible dumping of oil from the reserve after the midterms and you will see gas prices skyrocket from there.
