The United States is sending billions of dollars everywhere around the world to agitate conflicts and prolong already existing wars. It’s an utterly stupid and failing strategy.
Sending weapons to Taiwan is just the latest in a long line of agitations against China. The Chinese for economic reasons have been trying to avoid taking military action, but they might not be able to hold off much longer. The Chinese people don’t like the situation and are pressuring the government to take action in order to fully reunify Taiwan with the mainland.
Despite misconceptions among people in the West, China’s leader Xi Jinping has mostly ruled China as a populist figure since taking over as head of state. There is no doubt that he understands the public’s sentiment on this issue and is prepared to take action accordingly.
There is no way for the United States to stop China from taking over Taiwan with military forces. As the Chinese have done in recent military exercises, they have shown that they can maintain a permanent naval and air blockade of the island until the separatists are forced to capitulate.
The US has started a fight that they can’t win. They would have been better off doing diplomacy with China on the Taiwan issue, but instead are going to be left with nothing because of their stupidity and stubbornness.
