It looks as if Zaluzhny has been replaced as the head of the Ukrainian military. He also did not lead a coup as was speculated. He’s been replaced by a man name Aleksandr Syrsky who has announced a new defensive strategy that he hopes will “exhaust” the enemy. He was previously in charge of Ukrainian ground forces playing a large role in sending hundreds of thousands of men into the proverbial meat grinder. He is greatly despised by the rank and file soldiers which makes his promotion all the more curious.

Ukraine has “transitioned” from offensive operations to strategic defense, General Aleksandr Syrsky has told the German TV channel ZDF in an interview published on Tuesday.
The interview was recorded several days before President Vladimir Zelensky appointed Syrsky commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in place of the sacked General Valery Zaluzhny.
“The war is entering a new stage,” Syrsky told ZDF. “We have transitioned from offensive actions to conducting a defensive operation,” he added, in order to “exhaust the enemy and inflict maximum losses on them, using our fortifications, our technical advantages, unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare systems, and prepared defense lines.”
The Ukrainian armed forces have turned to aerial and even ground drones to preserve the lives of troops, Syrsky said.
“I’d rather leave a position, but I won’t allow the loss of personnel,” he told the German outlet. He alleged that Russia places “no value” on the lives of its troops, claiming that its losses are seven to eight times higher than Ukraine’s, according to Kiev’s estimates.
It is absurd for him to say that they hope to exhaust the enemy with defensive operations. This is just public relations spin admitting that they have lost the war. They no longer can mount any serious offensive operations so they are just trying to hold the lines where ever they can.
It is also bizarre that this man was put in charge of the Ukrainian military considering how hated of a figure he is inside the force itself. It is possible that he’s the only person Zelensky could find who was willing to go along with all of his bullshit. It is also possible that he’s a Russian agent and was purposefully employing strategies that would be helpful to Russia. Syrsky’s family is all Russian and he is for all intents and purposes Russian himself. His parents currently live in Russia.
The Ukraine is basically a fake country and it is very possible that it will no longer exist once this war is officially concluded. Due to the continued unwillingness of the Kiev regime to negotiate a peace, it appears as if the only way this is going to end is when Russia ends it through military force.
