Due to Twitter blocking links to the New York Post’s story on Hunter Biden’s corrupt dealings in Ukraine, some House Republicans reposted the report on a government website. Twitter decided to block links to that also.

Other pro-Trump accounts have also been blocked.

Not only did Twitter mess around with the White House Press Secretary’s personal account but they also locked out James Woods and Jack Posobiec for tweets they posted about the Biden-Ukraine report.

The criticism to these censorship measures have been fierce prompting Jack Dorsey to issue the following statement.

He says blocking URLs without context is unacceptable. I would argue that blocking URLs due to the political content in said URLs is never acceptable regardless of what communication is delivered.

This shows once again that Twitter and these other social media sites are acting as publishers. These are not platforms that provide a neutral ground for people to express ideas. It proves that they are not eligible for all the legal protections that platforms are allowed to enjoy.

Twitter is even actively promoting disinformation about the Biden-Ukraine story.

They are blatantly interfering in the American election because they know that if they can get the orange man out of the White House, there is zero chance anything will happen to them.

Now granted, even with the orange man still in the White House, we are not guaranteed of anything being done about the censorship of these big tech operations. This is largely due to what failures most Republicans are. But at least with the orange man in power there is a chance something can be done.

The good news is that even mainstream Republicans seem to finally be getting the message of how dangerous this censorship agenda has been. We aren’t hearing a whole lot of gibberish about “private companies” etc..

Too bad they’re a little late to the party on this issue.
