Ted Cruz a United States Senator from Texas, celebrated America’s Independence Day by posting a tweet declaring his love for the Israeli military. He claims that he was inspired by the courage of Israeli soldiers when he was just 5-years-old citing an obscure historical event that took place in Africa almost five decades ago.

Today is also the 47th anniversary of the daring Entebbe raid. I was only 5 at the time, but I remember being inspired by the amazing courage of the @IDF team that rescued the hostages & killed the terrorists.

Up until this point, I never even heard of this event that took place in Uganda involving these Jew hostages, Palestinians and Africans and I have a bit more understanding of world history than the average person. The fact that Cruz is referencing this and claiming he knew about it when he was 5-years-old is just ridiculous. It’s not even remotely believable.
On top of that, what the hell does this event have to do with Texas or America’s independence from the British? I don’t see the correlation between a bunch of Jewish terrorists and your average Texan.
