There is currently a huge number of cargo ships waiting outside of Shanghai to unload their goods. They have been unable to unload their cargo because of the continuing brutal zero-COVID lockdowns that have been placed on the city. Basically, very little is coming in and out of the city’s port because of these lockdowns.

These zero-COVID lockdowns have been extremely bad public relations for China, but at this point they don’t seem to care about any of that. They are continuing the lockdowns any way.
A viral video describing some of the horrible things that are happening in Shanghai has been censored by the Chinese government.
Some of the things that are going on in the city are insane.

Before the Chinese did this, you could argue that the Chinese in many respects had more freedoms than many Westerners. Especially after the West went crazy with the virus hoax. Now, you can’t really make that argument because the Chinese have decided to go super crazy with the virus hoax. These lockdowns are as crazier than even the crazy lockdowns we saw in Australia.
There might also be some internal political things behind this as Shanghai is considered to be a more Westernized city than the rest of China. But regardless of that, this is very clearly a form of indirect economic warfare against the West. This policy is effectively an unofficial trade embargo that has been placed under the guise of stopping the spread of a non-deadly virus.
I would be stocking up on supplies and buying things you need, because this situation is definitely going to have a major impact on the world.
