I guess it is somewhat notable that he would make such a statement as it shows that there is an increasing amount of anti-American sentiment rising throughout Europe. They’ve been totally screwed by going along with this Ukraine war nonsense and now the US wants them to support a war against China. A difficult sell considering Europe’s economic ties to China.
This thing is, Macron has much bigger domestic problems. A significant part of the French public want him removed from power and executed. His grip on power is hanging by a thread.

Regardless of Macron’s political situation, we are going to see more and more European countries seek a break from the US because of how insane they’ve gotten. It is inevitable.
