China responded to the visit of another US Congressional delegation to Taiwan this weekend with more military exercises.

They are rightly unhappy about this visit based on official responses.

What these people are doing is the equivalent of if the Chinese sent people from their government to fly into Hawaii and visit with people who want Hawaii to separate from the US and become its own country. But if we are to be totally honest, it is actually even dumber than that considering how close Taiwan is geographically to the Chinese mainland. Plus most of the world including the US officially views Taiwan as Chinese territory.
The US is just setting itself up for another major geopolitical failure. They are powerless to stop China officially reunifying Taiwan with the mainland. It would have been much more pragmatic for them to negotiate with the Chinese and come to a reasonable agreement on the Taiwan issue. But instead, they foolishly think they can bully the Chinese even though they don’t have the means to backup their bullying. It’s utterly ridiculous what they are doing.
