Twitter is currently having all sorts of issues and it has negatively impacted by news gathering and commentary operations. It isn’t my imagination either. Lots of other people have been reporting problems. The site has apparently been having issues for the past several hours.

Independent:

Thousands of Twitter users have reported problems with the social media platform this afternoon.

Over 4,000 people have complained of issues on the Down Detector site, including the inability to retrieve tweets, missing timelines and followers disappearing.

It is not clear what the cause of the problems is or how long they will last. The company is yet to comment.

Reports of the Twitter outage began on Down Detector at 12:19pm and have continued throughout the day. Three hours later, the same issues persist and users are getting frustrated.

Some wrote on Down Detector “I can’t believe how long this has been going on for now,” and “This is just getting beyond a joke now.”

I’ve been getting errors telling me that I’ve exceeded some sort of rate limit with a dummy account I use just to search the site. I don’t post with it because if I started posting my real thoughts, I would no doubt get banned since Twitter does not support actual real free speech. I can’t even say words like “nigger.”

Despite that, Twitter is useful for finding news and finding additional commentary that bolsters or supports my own commentary. With the site being totally unusable at the moment, it definitely hampers what I want to do. That’s why I’ve mostly just commented on RT headlines today.

Elon needs to hire some high IQ niggers who are good with computers to fix the site. If not, 90 percent of this site will be me doing commentary on RT stories.
