The Pentagon is claiming that a Russian victory in the Ukraine would be worse than if civilians die from their cluster bombs.

US fears of Russian success on the battlefield outweigh concerns that deliveries of cluster bombs to Ukraine could result in civilian casualties, a senior Pentagon official acknowledged on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl defended the White House’s decision to approve another $800 million weapons package for Ukraine, including cluster munitions. The weapons are banned in more than 100 countries.
When they detonate, the munitions release many small bomblets over a wide area. A percentage of bomblets fail to detonate on impact, however, and unexploded elements pose severe risks to civilians for years after fighting ends.
Asked if the Pentagon has assured its allies that the munitions will not cause excessive civilian harm, Kahl replied: “I’m as concerned about the humanitarian circumstance as anybody, but the worst thing for civilians in Ukraine is for Russia to win the war. And so it’s important that they don’t.”
It’s all cool though. They say the Ukrainian military is going to be “careful” with how they use them.

This is a truly bizarre position.
The people in the eastern part of the Ukraine are largely Russian speakers with historical ties to Russia. To claim that they’d be better off potentially getting blown up with cluster bombs versus living inside of Russia is such a nonsensical statement. These people were literally being killed by satanic Neo-Nazis backed by the Jewish government in Kiev before this war went really hot. Their lives would objectively be much worse under the Jew regime.
The US has failed to explain why the eastern part of the Ukraine is so important that unlimited amounts of resources have to be poured into ensuring Russia doesn’t control it. The war has clearly failed and nobody wants to admit to its failure so they’re just flailing around and doing dumb things like sending cluster bombs over there.
