The media is claiming that Russia has requested military support from China to assist with their war effort in Ukraine. The media is claiming this based on anonymous sources in the United States government.
New: Russia has asked China for military assistance in Ukraine, a senior US official tells me. Moscow’s request includes drones.
Such aid – if Beijing were to agree – could have battlefield impact and would have China/Russia & US/NATO supporting opposing sides of the war.— Jim Sciutto (@jimsciutto) March 13, 2022
We all know how unreliable these anonymous sources have been in the past, so there is no reason to believe that this reporting is accurate.
Besides, Russia is clearly winning the war on all fronts and does not need any assistance to complete their objectives. Their progress has been much slower than I anticipated because they’re trying to reduce civilian deaths. It’s a difficult task because the Ukrainians have been positioning weapons and soldiers in areas that would purposefully make civilian deaths more likely.
Russia is denying that they asked China for military assistance.
The Kremlin denies Russia has asked for China to help its invasion of Ukraine.
Dmitry Peskov, Putin's spokesman, said Russia had "self-sufficient potential to continue the operation", which he said was "developing according to plan and will be finished on time and in full."

This appears to be part of a disinformation campaign to demonize the Chinese which is really stupid. Agitating China is really the last thing they should be doing, but the people running the United States government are infantile and emotionally challenged.
