The CIA narrative on Russia and Vladimir Putin is so stupid and ridiculous. This fact can’t be emphasized enough. They are just publicly claiming that the risk of Putin using nuclear weapons is low.

Is it really low?

Putin himself has publicly said that he is prepared to use all means at his disposal to defend Russia’s sovereignty. That includes using nuclear weapons. Even the corporate media is putting out reports expressing concern that Putin could order the nuclear option.

Meanwhile, we are being told that Putin was insane enough to blow up his own Nord Stream pipeline infrastructure for no reason. We know that’s not true, the United States was obviously behind that operation, but you can’t square these two narratives.

You can’t say Putin is insane enough to blow up his valuable gas pipeline infrastructure while claiming the risk of him using nuclear weapons is low. You’d have to conclude that anybody who ordered the destruction of a major revenue generating asset like those pipes would be at high risk of potentially ordering a nuclear strike.

Of course, Putin is not insane. He is a very rational and measured leader. However, the risk of Russia using nukes is unquestionably higher than it has ever been. At least on par with what we saw during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

When the Cold War was in full swing, the potential for mutually assured destruction was something that was respected on both sides. Now, we have people in the West just dismissing Russia’s nuclear weapons capabilities. We even have morons like David Petraeus confidently saying that US/NATO would just destroy Russia’s military if they use a nuclear weapon.

It’s just such complete nonsense from the same people who have been continuously wrong about everything. Remember, this rhetoric is coming from the same people who couldn’t even defeat a bunch of primitive cave dwellers in Afghanistan. They lost to those people even though they were only armed with AK-47s and drove around in old Toyota trucks that probably had 500,000 miles on them.

What makes you think the people responsible for that disaster are competent enough to defeat a modern nuclear armed power like Russia?
