The President did an impromptu question and answer session with the press today. He said that he is looking forward to talking with the special counsel. The interview might take place over the next few weeks.

It’s fair to assume that the special counsel’s investigation is coming close to an end. They’re running out of people to interview. Since there is no evidence of collusion, there is the possibility that they could try and claim there was “obstruction of justice” or some other nonsense charge. But that would be dubious since the President has the lawful authority to provide direction to the Department of Justice.

Trump also made some comments about DACA and trying to strike a deal on immigration. In exchange for a concession on DACA, he’s looking for $25 billion to build the wall, the chain migration fix and an end to the diversity lottery. Larger more comprehensive changes would come after.

The special counsel stuff is interesting. It seems to be winding down just as we are getting mountains of evidence proving that it was a hoax to hoax a conspiracy all along. Hopefully there is a secret plan to fire and arrest all these people who were involved.
