Donald Trump did an interview with the Daily Caller where he warned anti-fascist groups that opposition to them will be much tougher and more violent if they decide to mobilize.
President Trump on Wednesday warned members of the anti-fascist movement, commonly referred to as “antifa,” that opposition to them could be “tougher” and “much more violent” if their critics decide to “mobilize.”
“They better hope that the opposition to antifa decides not to mobilize,” Trump told the conservative outlet The Daily Caller in an interview. “Because if they do, they’re much tougher. Much stronger. Potentially much more violent.”
“And antifa’s going to be in big trouble,” the president continued. “But so far they haven’t done that and that’s a good thing.”
The left-wing antifa movement is known for its direct protests of events and figures that supporters accuse of spreading white supremacist and fascist ideals.
The loosely-affiliated network of groups have participated in public protests of multiple Trump administration and GOP figures. Critics have slammed its members for inciting violence at events they organize and attend.
Trump during the interview Wednesday said the groups that oppose antifa include “the military,” “the police” and a lot of “tough people.”
An anti-fascist group in Washington, D.C., last week protested outside the home of Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, whom they accused of promoting white nationalism from a mainstream platform.
The thing is, opposition did mobilize against the anti-fascists but the Department of Justice and other law enforcement entities decided to prosecute them. They also chose not to prosecute people in the anti-fascist groups.
Look at what happened in Charlottesville. A group of nationalists showed up to protest the removal of a statue and we got attacked by anti-fascists while the police stood by and did nothing to separate the two sides. The people who defended themselves got charged with all sorts of bullshit.
There was also no attempt by the DoJ to investigate what happened or look into the civil rights violations against the people who tried to peacefully assemble.
So Mr. President, clean up the DoJ and order them to investigate and shut down these anti-fascist terrorist groups. Surely if the DoJ can be weaponized against nationalists, they can be used to engage in legitimate law enforcement action against these anti-fascists.
And the shit that happened to Tucker Carlson’s family is the most obvious proof that these groups are out of control and have to be shut down. The situation with Carlson is just one of countless examples documenting anti-fascist terrorism.
Simply put, if nationalists didn’t have to deal with corrupt government agencies charging people with bullshit crimes for merely defending themselves, we along with law enforcement could help solve this problem relatively quickly.
