So it looks like when the Democrats take control of the House, they’ll be proposing a bill to fund the government without President Trump’s request for border wall funding. It will include $1.3 billion for “border security” but that will not contain money for a wall.

AP:

House Democrats are unveiling legislation to reopen the government without money for President Donald Trump’s border wall.

The House is preparing to vote on the package Thursday when the new Congress convenes. This is according to an aide who was not authorized to discuss the plan publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

It will include one bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security at current levels through Feb. 8, with $1.3 billion for border security.

The package will also include six other bipartisan bills to fund the departments of Agriculture, Interior, Housing and Urban Development and others closed by the partial shutdown. Some have already passed the Senate. Those bills will provide money through the remainder of the fiscal year, to Sept. 30.

The partial government shutdown is in its second week over Trump’s demand for $5 billion for the wall.

It is a totally ridiculous situation. The Democrats are hell bent on destroying America and turning it into a third world shithole.

We also have outgoing Chief of Staff John Kelly playing semantics with whether or not it is a wall, steel slats etc..

Fox News:

White House chief of staff John Kelly, who is set to leave the Trump administration within days, flatly asserted in remarks published Sunday that the president’s proposed border project “is not a wall” and that all plans for a concrete wall were abandoned long ago — directly contradicting the White House’s repeated claims.

In a series of Twitter posts earlier this month, Trump insisted that “we are not building a Concrete Wall, we are building artistically designed steel slats, so that you can easily see through it.” But Kelly’s comments were seemingly at odds with the president’s tweet on Friday calling for “money to finish the Wall,” as well as his promises during and after the 2016 presidential campaign.

Sure, I guess most of us would prefer a concrete wall like the one they have in Israel, but I’m very flexible on this. So long as whatever is built keeps the brown filth from flooding into our country, that’s really all I care about. Plus, the Border Patrol folks prefer having some type of see through barrier in certain areas.

According to President Trump, it appears as if it will be a mix of the two depending upon the location.

The President also noted how Barack Obama built a big wall around his residence to express the need for the wall.

Ultimately, it looks as if this battle is going to continue for awhile. President Trump needs to stay the course on this. He should absolutely shut down the southern border as he previously suggested if no progress is made on this. The Mexicans need that border open more than we do and it can be used for political leverage both against the Dems and Mexico.
