This poll really encapsulates just how the entire country has been gripped with mass hysteria. A vast majority of Americans now support having their state’s borders closed to combat this alleged doomsday virus.
About two-thirds of U.S. likely voters want their state’s border closed and fines imposed for violating their community’s social distancing guidelines during the coronavirus threat, a new Rasmussen Reports survey finds.
Sixty-seven percent of voters want to bar entry into their state, except in cases of emergency, the survey reveals. Only 21% oppose the border control measure.
Just a couple of months ago, national borders, walls and anything meant to prevent the movement of people was considered the ultimate evil by many. Now a large number of those same people want the most draconian and extreme lockdowns inside of their own country because they’re fearful of catching and spreading a virus.
I guess it is good that these people are finally supporting border controls, but it is bad that they’re demanding the implementation of a militarized police state in ways that are totally unnecessary and impractical. What we need are strong controls on our national borders, not a million internal checkpoints inside of our own country.
But honestly, I’m not even sure you could successfully close the borders of every single state considering how big the United States is. Plus, such a move would only cause further economic damage. You can’t just block traffic on highways leading in and out of every state and prevent vital goods and supplies from reaching people.
This is just people reacting hysterically. They’re not thinking logically and rationally about what they’re demanding. And this is why our country now faces total ruin. Most everyone has gone collectively insane.
